Cherokee Metropolitan District has a well field consisting of 21 well sites and one pumping station located east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The pumping station acts as a data concentrator and master controller for operating the various wells, some of which require certain conditions to be met prior to running to keep consistent the required water pumping totals as limited by the State.

HOA Solutions upgraded the control panels for all 22 sites, in the process adjusting the communication network to operate via both VHF radios and Cellular backbone sites. New PLCs and separate VHF Radios replaced the existing end of life PLC’s. As part of this upgrade, the master SCADA system had to be adjusted to intake the new communication system, providing better control and monitoring as compared to the pre-existing system.
